Massage For Everyone

My focus and belief are simple. Everyone deserves compassionate and attentive touch, especially those in need of relief from symptoms of cancer and other illness. I welcome anyone who has ever felt estranged from their body, disconnected from their physical experience, or alienated because of their shape or form.

Here, you will find a safe place to relax, unwind and destress. Clinical trials have suggested that oncology massage therapy helps reduce pain, anxiety, nausea, fatigue and shortness of breath. It can ease the mind, improve sleep, reduce depression and provide comfort. Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns you may have. Join me for an hour of peace and relaxation.

ONCOLOGY MASSAGE

An oncology massage is a client-specific, customized massage session designed to meet the unique and changing needs of someone in treatment for cancer or with a history of cancer treatment. A safe massage plan generally revolves around the side effects (both short and long-term) of chemotherapy, radiation and surgery.

Oncology massage can only be [provided by a massage therapist who has received training in the specifics of cancer and cancer treatment. When you are receiving an oncology massage, you are receiving traditional, safe, established massage therapy techniques that have been adapted to account for your unique health situation.

Clinical trials have reported that massage therapy helps reduce pain, anxiety, fatigue, and shortness of breath in cancer patients. It can ease the mind, improve sleep, reduce depression, and provide comfort to patients. It may also help children and caregivers. In addition, studies suggest that massage can reduce pain and anxiety related to medical procedures, including surgery.

MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a specific gentle manual technique designed to increase the absorption and movement of lymph and interstitial fluid to reduce swelling, pain and the buildup of scar tissue. Surgeries, radiation and soft tissue injuries disrupt the architecture of the lymphatic vessels and nodes. Scar tissue and fascial restrictions can also interrupt or restrict the superficial lymphatic flow.

Swelling hinders the healing process and recovery after injuries or surgeries. Lymphatic Drainage (MLF) is an advanced therapy in which a specifically trained therapist applies gentle, light, but precise hand movements to the skin, exerting different intensities of pressure to increase the activity of normal lymphatic vessels.
